At eight years old, my life changed overnight when my father went to prison. He left us with nothing. From that point on, I learned early, and out of necessity, what it meant to create and manage money.
I started mowing lawns to help my mother put food on the table for my three younger brothers. Responsibility was not optional, it was required.
I became the first person in my family to attend college, working three jobs to make it possible. Nothing was handed to me.
When I entered the investment industry, I built my business from the ground up, cold calling, knocking on doors, and earning every opportunity. I did not inherit a network or follow a well-worn path. I had to create my own. While many other advisors grow up around this profession because of their parents, I had to teach myself everything. That journey shaped how I think, how I work, and how I serve my clients.
Anyone who has started with nothing and built something meaningful understands the discipline, resilience, and perspective it takes.
For me, being a financial advisor is not just a career, it is part of who I am.
