

William Bill Edwards is a distinguished financial advisor with over two decades of experience guiding clients toward long-term success. Born and raised in Charlottesville, Virginia, Bill descends from two storied American lineages the Garth family, original founders of Albemarle County, and the Edwards/Young family of Lansing, Michigan, known for their contributions to banking and automobile manufacturing. His great-grandfather, Benjamin Young, played a pivotal role at the Bank of Detroit, while his great-great-grandfather, Captain Thomas Garth, left a proud legacy of patriotism and service.
Bills own path reflects his familys tradition of entrepreneurship, leadership, and dedication to community. A 2002 graduate of Longwood University, he earned dual degrees in Finance and Economics, graduating at the top of his class while excelling as an outfielder and pitcher for Longwoods storied baseball program. His early achievements included competing at the national level in DECA, captaining his high school baseball team, and serving as a volunteer firefighter.
Over his career, Bill has earned a reputation for excellence, innovation, and client-centered service. He spent 15 years with Morgan Stanley where he was a top trainer and earned multiple national awards as a Vice President, followed by 6 years with Wells Fargo. In 2012, he achieved the prestigious CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification.
In founding W G Edwards Investments, Bill combined his deep expertise with a personal mission: to help individuals, families, and businesses grow and preserve wealth with integrity, strategic insight, and a personal touch.
When hes not advising clients, Bill remains active in community and family life, carrying forward his heritage of service, leadership, and achievement.
Bill and his wife Kelly live on a farm in Cumberland County with their three children, who are gaining firsthand appreciation for hard work, stewardship, and the origins of the food we eat.
