Definition of 'Hidden Fees'
Some advisors charge fees instead of commissions. Some charge fees and commissions. Mutual-fund investors sometimes paid fees that were subtracted from fund assets to pay for services, therefore not being shown as advisor fees. Advisors are required to disclose fees, but sometimes the fee structure is buried in the contract or prospectus and overlooked by the investor.
