Performance Benchmarks

Whether you are accumulating or preserving assets, performance is your key to a comfortable, secure retirement. Your investment performance impacts when you retire, how you live during retirement, and your financial security late in life when you need it the most.

Relative Results

Let's assume 100% of your assets were invested in stocks last year and your performance was a positive 10%. You were happy with a double-digit "absolute" return until you learned the stock market was up 20% during the same period. Then you were unhappy because your "relative" performance lagged the market by 50%. This is why relative results are more important than absolute results.

5 Performance Benchmarks

Paladin provides a FREE easy way to monitor your relative results. We produce five Benchmarks for different performance expectations and tolerances for risk. All you do is compare your results to:

  • The Benchmark that matches your risk tolerance and circumstances (working, retired)
  • The same time period (month, quarter, YTD, year)

Advisors are more accountable when they know their performance is being monitored by their clients.

What is a Benchmark?

Paladin used index funds, exchange traded funds, and passive asset allocation to develop five Benchmarks that have different risk/reward characteristics. We back-tested the performance of the Benchmarks to January 1, 2008. We continuously monitor the performance of the Benchmarks in various market conditions.
