The January jobs report was much better than expected; more jobs added, revisions strong, unemployment rate falls. Futures move up strongly.
Initial weekly jobless claims dropped a bit from the prior week. Continuing claims also fell a bit. Pretty good news. Futures flat.
After sideways to slightly down market the past week, Dow roaring ahead today, up 120 in early trading on positive earns and good econ news.
4th qtr GDP growth of 2.8% slightly missed expectations, driving futures somewhat lower. Not a huge miss, but creates concerns about growth.
